Actor Roman Kyle, Student of CoachClark's The Cut

“I feel my most valuable lesson was 'Does this need to be said?' 'Does this need to be said by me?' 'Does this need to be said by me, right now?' It stuck with me so much when during my exercise of writing out my characters thoughts and feelings and how it also applies to real life.”

Actor Leah Thomas, Student of CoachClark's The Cut

"It is definitely still a learning journey and I am definitely still struggling with things on certain days. However, I am noticing that I am connecting to things differently upon first reads and am utilizing detail work and personal connection in a way that I wasn't before. I also had an audition at...a while back...but it was probably the most connected I have ever felt during an audition without worrying about what they were thinking about how I was doing. That was really refreshing and made the entire experience feel worth it."

"I literally learned in 12 weeks all the stuff that never made sense before. I was finally able to gain a solid understanding and actionable approach to “inside-out” acting that left me feeling excited about what I could bring to the table and wanting to work.”

Kim Greenawalt, Actor/Clown

Actor De'Jyan Horne, Student of CoachClark's The Cut

“One of my favorite things in working with him is if there is something that isn’t making sense or sinking in he will go out of his way to break it down in a way specific to you until it does and I really appreciated that. I also enjoy how passionate & knowledgeable he is about the craft which is evident, immediately when speaking to him. The classes I’ve taken with Caleb have easily been some of my favorite acting classes & has helped me tremendously I’ve already seen so much growth in myself as an actor within the short time I’ve been working with him.”

"Taking Coach Clark's MiniMFA Intensive was one the best decisions I have made for myself as an actor in recent years. His style and technique lay out a concrete plan from the moment you audition, to getting your script, to rehearsals, and finally performances. I have successfully used what he taught me in my own process, and it has lead me to more grounded, present, and satisfying work. I have grown so much as an artist because of Coach Clark's guidance, it has been an absolute treat to work with him!"

Michelle Strom, Actor

Actor Maddie Compton, Student of CoachClark's The Cut

"CoachClark’s Mini MFA Intensive kind of rewired my brain. Seriously. The way I prepare is completely different, and so so so much more fruitful. The intensive isn’t easy. It’s demanding, and sometimes incredibly frustrating. But on the other side of that frustration is an acting process that just makes sense. I feel more present, alive, vulnerable, receptive to stimuli, and truly ready to do the work.  What I value most about working with Coach Clark is his honesty. I’ve had acting teachers that were more concerned with boosting my ego than pushing me to grow. Not Coach Clark- he’ll tell you the truth, and challenge you to rise beyond your own expectations. Thank you, Coach Clark for creating this intensive and sharing its magic with me! "

Maddie Compton, Actor

Actor Beks Roen, Student of CoachClark's The Cut

"I’ve never watched my craft grow so much in such a condensed period of time. Coach Clark has a knack for asking the right questions—not just about the character and story, but about how you interact with them and how that affects your acting choices. He brings a kindness and care to the space that makes you feel safe to test ideas, and will 100% keep you honest. Even though our cohort was on Zoom, I felt connected and supported and part of the group. After being a part of Coach Clark’s MiniMFA, acting makes so much more sense."

Actor Emily Peiffer, Student of CoachClark's The Cut

“This technique and the way that you teach has literally changed the way that I’m in the room…These are some of the most connected auditions that I’ve done...the fact that I can say that I was like, I’m gonna try something in the room, or I’m just gonna…surprise myself, or things that I literally never would’ve said before because I would’ve been too afraid to, and this whole technique…I just have this newfound sense of going in the room…I’m gonna walk in and I’m gonna do this monologue like it’s nothin’, now…I just feel like I’m gonna bring myself into the room…and I’m gonna discover something new…It’s priceless what you’ve gifted me…and I’m just really grateful. And I hope that you can receive that, because it has changed the way that I work. So, thank you.”

Emily Peiffer, Actor

Actor Jullien Aponte, Student of CoachClark's The Cut

"Caleb met me where I was at mentally and technically and gave me new ways if engaging and interacting with techniques I’d been using for years. He pushed me when I needed it and eased up when I needed it, it was like artist therapy. He just wants to help however he can."

Jullien Aponte, Actor/Model

Actor Kailey Potter, Student of CoachClark's The Cut

"This Intensive completely changed how I think about and understand this work. Not only did Coach Clark provide tangible and effective methods to apply to my craft that I already feel have upped my audition game, but he also asked questions that helped to push my mindset from the short-term worry over booking jobs and self-tape takes to a holistic, long-term perspective on how I can become a fulfilled artist and human inside and outside of the theatre industry.Coach Clark is cool, he cares, and he possesses a scarily accurate ability to know just what exercise or question an actor needs to prompt a discovery that changes how they understand the work."

Actor Katherine Atkinson, Student of CoachClark's The Cut

“I think this program was an incredible way to dig deeper into my work and practices right out of post grad. I think life can get very overwhelming and having something to anchor you back into what you are really trying to do is essential. I also think this program offered great insight into a way to approach text that sets you up for success. It is almost like a formula, and if it doesn’t work when you start to play you can immediately tell you need to go back to the drawing board. It is not easy and I am still working on it day by day, but I look forward to doing so. I no longer want to get anything “right.” In fact, the minute I let go of that was when the fun started.”

Katherine Atkinson, Actor

Actor Cameron Smith, Student of CoachClark's The Cut

“His commitment to detail, analytical skill of the script, and observational professionalism convincingly gathered my attention. I learned that emotionally connecting to my pieces has been a bit of a struggle for me and Caleb took notice of that and provided a clear way to help me provide emotional undertones in my work. Today, I apply his teachings with every piece I do. “Acting is Caring”, “Work Back to Front in the Script”, and “Be Interested” are my favorite takeaways from my lessons with Caleb. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND WORKING WITH THIS MAN!!”

Most acting is fake

Actors are taught to perform emotion instead of live truthfully.

They learn techniques that look convincing concerned with the outside view aka what's "showing."

The result?

Performances that feel like performances. Not life.

The camera sees the difference immediately.

So does an audience, even if they can't say why.

CoachClark strips away performance habits and trains actors to work with behavioral truths, emotional honesty, and cinematic precision.

Not just when you're inspired.

Truthful work that tells the story. Anywhere. Anytime.

Every time.

The Five Disciplines

of The CoachClark Studio

1. Instrument

How do I learn to know myself? = Vulnerability.

The actor's primary tool is not their voice, body, or imagination. It is themselves.

The study of Instrument develops the actor's ability to connect truthfully to the world of the play, their scene partners, and their own emotional life. Through increased awareness, presence, and vulnerability, actors learn to become available to genuine experience rather than attempting to manufacture it.

Truthful acting begins with the willingness to be affected.

2. Story

How do I understand the play? = Craft.

Before an actor can perform a play, they must understand it.

The study of Story develops the actor's ability to analyze text, identify objectives and actions, understand structure, and uncover the engine driving the drama. Actors learn to move beyond intuition and build performances on a foundation of clear, repeatable choices.

Craft transforms instinct into understanding.

3. Transformation

How do I become someone else? = Imagination.

Acting is not simply self-expression. It is the art of becoming.

The study of Transformation develops the actor's ability to create lives beyond their own through physical, vocal, psychological, and imaginative choices. Actors learn how to expand beyond habit, embody new circumstances, and create characters that are both specific and truthful.

Imagination is the bridge between the actor and the role.

4. Process

How do I sustain myself? = Truth.

An acting career is built on uncertainty. Rejection, inconsistency, and periods of both abundance and scarcity are inevitable parts of the profession.

The study of Process teaches actors how to navigate these realities with resilience, perspective, and self-awareness. Actors learn to separate their worth from their work, evaluate themselves honestly without self-judgment, and build habits that support both artistic growth and personal well-being.

Truth means accepting reality as it is—not as we wish it to be. It allows actors to pursue excellence without burnout, endure rejection without losing themselves, and build careers that are not only successful, but sustainable.

5. Profession

How do I build a career? = Ownership.

Actors are artists, but they are also entrepreneurs.

The study of Profession prepares actors to navigate the realities of a sustainable career. Auditions, networking, branding, finances, professionalism, and opportunity creation are treated not as separate skills, but as essential responsibilities of the working actor.

Actors who embrace ownership stop waiting for permission and begin building the careers they want.

Your career is your responsibility.

Who is CoachClark?

Most actors are taught to chase feelings.

Caleb Clark was never interested in that.

Before theatre, he was a rapper. That path led him to Shakespeare, Shakespeare led him to acting, and acting became his life's work. Because he came to theatre from outside the traditional pipeline, he never learned to treat acting as a mysterious, unknowable art form.

He approached it like any other craft: learn the skill, practice the skill, measure the results, improve.

What frustrated him most was that many actors are given feedback without being given tools they could use without help. They know when something isn't working, but not why. They know they need to improve, but not how.

While studying under Jack Young in graduate school, Caleb found a practical framework for understanding what makes acting work. He expanded those principles, filled in the gaps he saw in actor training, and developed The Clark Method.

The Clark Method treats acting like a sport: trainable, repeatable, measurable.

It gives actors objective gauges for evaluating their work, a clear language for diagnosing problems, and specific physical adjustments they can make when something isn't landing.

Instead of hoping, guessing, or waiting for a coach to tell you what happened, you'll understand exactly what happened and what to do next.

The method explains the physical mechanics behind connection, imagination, and truthful performance so they can be recreated consistently rather than chased accidentally.

It also places special emphasis on Action and Objective—not as restrictive planning tools, but as the engine of story, character, and freedom in performance.

Most importantly, it teaches that truthful acting doesn't come from becoming someone else.

It comes from uncovering the version of you that already exists within the circumstances of the play.

You are the instrument. The work is learning how to tune it.

When you leave a session, audition, rehearsal, or performance, you should never have to wonder if your work was effective.

The Clark Method gives you the tools to know.
